Major offers for Florida back

According to his high school coach, Frostproof (Fla.) running back Carlton Thomas has emerged with multiple scholarship offers. The 5-foot-7, 175-pound speedster has emerged as a major Division I-A prospect from the small school in Polk County, Fla.
"Carlton has been officially offered by Auburn, West Virginia, Arkansas, Arizona State, UConn and Notre Dame," FHS head coach Brad Metheny said.

Metheny added that Florida State and Ohio State have called and expressed a "high interest" in his talented running back.
Thomas rushed for 2,280 yards and 25 touchdowns in 10 games during his junior season to lead Polk County, which includes the Lakeland-area schools, in rushing.
Thomas also was an All-State selection as a junior and was rated as the state of Florida's No. 87 overall prospect in the Class of 2007 pre-evaluation top 100 by FlaVarsity.com.
