Offers are beginning to pile up for Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek wide receiver Marquez North. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder landed a couple huge offers in recent weeks from the Big Ten and SEC.
"Everything is going pretty good now," he said. "I haven't talked to any coaches in a few days, but Urban Meyer and Ohio State offered me along with Georgia in the past four weeks. Michigan offered too."
North is excited about the offers.
"I'm just thankful," he said. "Working hard is finally paying off and they are all really good colleges. I want to see what everyone has to offer."
North noted plans to visit a few schools in the coming months, starting with NC State this weekend. He also is looking at trips to Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson and North Carolina.
Does North like anybody?
"The ones I have I'm pretty fine with, I like the offers I have," he said. "I've always kind of had a natural liking for Virginia Tech since my grandpa liked them a lot growing up and I watched them. I want them to offer me."
On the season, North earned all-county, all-conference and all-state honors as a junior.
