Major makes more cuts

Parker (Colo.) Ponderosa four-star inside linebacker Jon Major has made a major cut in his list.
After reducing his list to around 20 teams about a month ago, the list is now down to 11 after he spent some time doing more research on schools.

"I have cut my list of schools down to 11," he said.
"In no particular order they are, Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, USC, Virginia and Wisconsin. I am cutting to five or less by early August and will schedule official visits then. I have already set up three visits but I don't want to announce them until I determine if I will take a fourth and fifth visit."
With the top 11 set, he's eliminated Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami, Penn State, TCU, Texas and UCLA from consideration. While Major won't reveal who three of the finalists are, in June he did say Oklahoma, Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan and Oregon would be schools that would be for sure in his top group and that stayed true to form.
Major was recently nominated to play in two national high school all-star games and has decided which game he'll play in.
"I received an invite to the ESPN All American game and the US Army All American game a few weeks ago," he said. "I have elected to play in the ESPN game."
Major's senior season is also rapidly approaching and he's working hard to get ready.
"I am training hard and getting ready for fall camp," he said.
"In addition to lifting and 7-on-7, I am in vertical and lateral speed training three times a week with a coach that prepares NFL players for the combine and preseason camps. My summer goal is to get stronger and faster while keeping my weight around 230. Right now I am consistently running 4.0 pro shuttles."
