Major interest for Holmes

Desean Holmes is one of the top players in California's outstanding 2015 class and he already has more than a handful of offers.
The Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany wide receiver has not landed any new offers recently but there is some interest coming in that's especially interesting to the 2015 standout.

It's coming from a major school, too.
"I still have seven offers and I'm getting a lot of new interest from Texas right now," Holmes said. "They said they're looking forward to offering me.
"They have a lot of great history. If they offered it would be really good. They said I'm a really good player, I run great routes, I have great footwork and great hands. They asked for film and we sent it out and they went through it and the head coach liked me."
An offer from the Longhorns would be huge but it hasn't arrived yet.
So far, Holmes has landed offers from Cal, Houston, Nebraska, UCLA, USC, Utah and Washington. It's still very early in his recruitment but Holmes said one local team is standing out more than the others at this point.
"I'm not thinking about SC too much right now," Holmes said. "I'm thinking more about UCLA right now and I'd say UCLA is in the lead right now."
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound prospect has looked good at multiple events this off-season. He could be one of the top players in California when the 2015 rankings are released.
