Major interest for Holmes

Alabama and Miami have started to show interest in Desean Holmes and it's especially exciting for the Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany standout because he's a 2015 prospect.
Holmes, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete, looked good this past weekend at the Pierce College 7on7 tournament in Woodland Hills, Calif., and said he's looking forward to summer when he might attend camps at both of those powerhouse schools.

It seems there is a better chance he will attend Alabama's camp but Holmes and his family are still considering Miami as well.
"They're both sending me letters right now," Holmes said. "The letter I got from Alabama I was really excited. I opened it up really fast to see what it was. I was really excited about that.
"It could be really big. I hope so. I'm really excited right now getting letters from those programs. The one from Alabama just showed up in my locker. Coach (Dean) Herrington brought it in. I had a big smile on my face. I was very happy."
Utah and Houston have already offered Holmes, who shined at wide receiver this past weekend, and many other programs could get involved since he's still so young.
Having four-star wide receiver Steven Mitchell, who has more than 20 offers, on the team helps because coaches come to recruit him and notice Holmes and many other stars at Bishop Alemany.
"I'm not even sure how they heard about me," Holmes said. "Probably because (Mitchell) is being heavily recruited right now and coaches have been coming to our practice all the time."
