Major interest for Hawkins

Jaylinn Hawkins had a fantastic summer at camps and on the 7on7 circuit and now the 2015 wide receiver is seeing his recruitment pick up.
So far, the Buena Park, Calif., standout has been offered by Oregon State, San Diego State and San Jose State and a lot more interest is coming in.

"Cal has been looking and I would say Michigan, Indiana, a little bit more from SC and Oregon I heard from again," Hawkins said.
Of all the interest, Hawkins said the Golden Bears might be the most involved. They invited him to their season opener against Northwestern this weekend and the 2015 standout said he's seriously thinking about heading up to Berkeley.
"Cal sent me tickets to go to their game next week," Hawkins said.
"I'm thinking about going down there and I'll be on the field with them and see how they play. I should head up there next week."
Hawkins, who's also hearing from UCLA and others, had a fantastic summer. He looked good at multiple 7on7 events, the B2G Elite Camp and many other stops.
It seems to be carrying over to the start of his junior season since Hawkins said he did well this past weekend in a scrimmage. Buena Park opens its season this weekend at Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) St. Paul.
"We just had our first scrimmage and I did well," Hawkins said. "I had two touchdowns and about 190 yards along with a couple tackles so it was cool. It was good but I can always do better."
