Oakland Park (Fla.) Northeast fullback Jim Maitland took an official visit last month to North Carolina State. The 6-foot-1, 235-pounder has scheduled his second official in December.
"I've scheduled a visit to Pittsburgh with Bo Williams," he said. "I chose them because they were one of the first schools to look at me. I have a lot of family in Pittsburgh and I like the way they run their offense with a fullback. One other thing is that their fullback is a senior and I like that because I'll get a chance to play early."
A couple weeks back Maitland took in the LSU-Florida game.
"It was good, I definitely like that school a lot," he said. "It was really nice and a big school. I liked the facilities and coach Meyer a lot. I liked the game a lot, the Swamp was really loud and awesome."
In the near future, the Florida fullback plans to head to another in-state school.
"I'm was looking at going to the Boston College-Florida State game, but now I'm planning to go to the FSU-Florida game," he said. "The coaches from Florida State came down a couple weeks ago and they asked for film of me.
"Most schools right now are waiting for my test scores and I think there's a good chance of getting some offers. I definitely want to take all five visits and I think one of them will definitely be to Florida State."
