Mainland TE down to two

Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland tight end Brian Ellis had a huge list of offers early on in the recruiting process. Seemingly out of nowhere Ellis dropped off the recruiting map and wasn't heard from for months. Now he has re-emerged and two schools remain left in the fight for his services.
"It's pretty much down to Florida and Florida State now," Ellis said. "I visited Florida State a couple of weeks ago and I am trying to set something up with Florida this week. They want me to come up there and I think I will be able to make it."

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Ellis runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, has a 300-pound bench press.
"Coach Sexton from Florida State was here at my house last week, I'm not sure if Florida is coming in this week or not," Ellis said. "This is going to be my last visit and I will decide probably on signing day. I'm not really leaning one way or another right now."
Ellis is ranked as the nation's No. 11 tight end and as the No. 50 player in the state of Florida.
