Mahone recaps recent visits

Four-star Ohio running back William Mahone visited three schools recently and he spoke about each of those trips over the weekend.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pound back from Austintown (Ohio) Fitch is ranked the No. 6 running back and No. 78 overall prospect in the nation by Rivals.com.

"I think last Monday I went to Notre Dame, Saturday I was at Penn State and then just on Thursday I was at Michigan State," Mahone explained.
"Notre Dame went really well. Actually, I didn't know what to expect since I hadn't been there before. They had come to my school so I knew they were interested but I had never really had a strong interest in Notre Dame. I made the trip out there and really liked it. It was an eye-opener so I'm definitely considering them now.
"Penn State went well, too. I camped there, actually, and I got to sit down with the running backs coach. It went well. We cleared up the question about me playing linebacker. They have their linebackers and they want me to be on the offensive side of the ball. It was definitely good to hear that.
"Michigan State was real good. I had camped there my sophomore year so I needed to get back up to see the campus. I talked to the coach and they said they're only taking one running back and they actually just got a commitment so I'm not sure what's going on with them. I'm going to see if they do take a second guy. They said I could always go and play defense for them."
Tennessee recently offered Mahone but it might be too late for the Vols to make a serious push.
"Actually, I've been talking to Tennessee since I first started to get offers. I thought they would have offered sooner and it is getting kind of late. If I do take a trip out there then I'll consider them," he noted.
"I have it kind of narrowed down in my head and I think people can figure out from stories on Rivals kind of where I'm leaning."
