"The coaches, the facilities and the success of the team," said Mahon, who is 6-foot-5 and 302-pounds.
The Mountaineers did not wait very long to offer Mahon during their junior day event.
"Coach Bedenbaugh offered me right when my father and I got there," said Mahon.
Before West Virginia, his last big offer came on Thursday from Miami.
"It was a great pick up," said Mahon. "The things Coach Golden and his coaching staff are doing is going to bring Miami great success."
The next two weekend Mahon will continue his busy schedule by attending junior days at Penn State and Connecticut.
