Magnolia TE hoping for big year

Mount Olive tight end Tyboris Loftin is a big, physical player who can run. So far he's been slow to pick up recruiting interest, but with the season quickly approaching that all appears to be changing.
"I don't have any offers, but the interest is picking up," Loftin said. "New schools are sending me mail and the ones that were sending mail seem to be sending more of it. Ole Miss, LSU, Southern Miss, Illinois and Tennessee are some of the main ones, but there are other schools that are sending stuff."

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Loftin runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds and has a 240-pound bench press.
"Right now I'm considering everybody, but Southern Miss and Mississippi State are probably the schools at the top of my list," Loftin said. "I went to Mississippi State for a day camp and I got to see the school and stuff and I really liked it. The coaches worked us hard and you can tell you really know what they are doing."
Loftin was a first team all-state 1A selection at tight end as a junior by the Mississippi Association of Coaches and caught 10 touchdowns as a junior.
"I would really like to stay kind of close to home if it is possible," Loftin said. "I think that is important just because you never know what can happen. I also want to major in chemical engineering so I will be looking for a school that has that field."
The only camp Loftin attended over the summer was at Mississippi State.
