Magnolia safety hoping for big season

D'Iberville, Miss. safety Wesley Ladner had a big junior season and picked up a Division I offer. He's hoping to have an even bigger senior season and hopes to pick up more interest from colleges.
"Navy is still my only offer right now," Ladner said. "Georgia Tech has started showing me a lot of interest. They have sent me two handwritten letters asking me how my summer was and all. Louisiana Tech, LSU, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana-Lafayette and Tennessee are all sending me stuff."

The 6-foot-0, 176-pound attended the Oxford NIKE camp where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.69 seconds and posted a 30-inch vertical jump.
"Right now my top schools are all of the in-state schools, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Ole Miss," Ladner said. "I'm not really considering Navy that much. It's just not a good situation for me. I'm hoping to have a big senior year and pick up some more offers."
As a freshman and sophomore years he recorded 70 tackles, three sacks, two fumble recoveries, one caused fumble, one interception, and eight pass breakups. He also had a 43-yard-per-punt average, an 8.2-yard-per-punt-return average and a kickoff return average of 27 yards per return.
As a junior he was named to the all-coast team by the Biloxi Sun-herald after recoding 76 tackles, three interceptions, and six sacks from the linebacker slot.
"I want to go somewhere that has a good business school," Ladner said. "I also want to stay close to home if at all possible. I got to visit a lot of places last year and I want to learn more about some schools and stuff like that before I make a decision."
