Magnolia LB picks up first offer

Southhaven, Miss., inside linebacker Alaric Coleman posted solid numbers at the NIKE camp held in Atlanta in May. Since then he has seen interest pick up and has picked up his first scholarship offer.
“Right now the only offer I have is Louisiana-Monroe,” Coleman said. “I have been getting calls from Vanderbilt, Louisiana-Monroe, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis and Southern Miss.”

Coleman is 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, bench presses 300 pounds and sports a 24-inch vertical leap.
“I would say that Memphis, Vanderbilt, Louisiana-Monroe and Alabama are my top schools,” Coleman said. “I went to the Memphis-UT Chattanooga game and it was real cool. I had a real good time at the game and Memphis won the game.”
As a junior, he racked up 101 tackles and one interception on defense and also saw significant time as a blocking fullback.
“I have not set up any official visits or anything like that at this point,” Coleman said. “I want to get out and see some more schools and what they have to offer and stuff like that. Our season is going well right now and I am real focused on that.”
