Magnolia LB maintains leader

Hattiesburg, Miss., inside linebacker Charles Burns has been one of the fastest rising players in the Magnolia State over the last few months. Though his senior season is now over interest continues to rise for Burns.
“I have offers from Mississippi State, Notre Dame, West Virginia and Ole Miss,” Burns said. “Auburn has been calling me a lot lately. They told me that they are real interested and that if they don’t get some other guys that they want, then I am one of the first ones they will offer.”

The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Burns attended the NIKE camp in Baton Rouge where he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.06 seconds, ran the shuttle in 4.47 seconds, had a 28-inch vertical jump and did 21 reps on the bench press.
“My favorites right now would be Mississippi State, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Auburn and Notre Dame,” Burns said. “I would say that Mississippi State is my leader. Coach Croom really stands out to me, he is a great guy. Ever since I went to camp there and then my first game there I have really liked them.”
