Magnolia LB adds new offer, visit

Three-star Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove linebacker Garry Pack has added another big scholarship offer.
“A couple of weeks ago Florida State offered me,” he said. “Coach Andrews called and told me. I got real excited. I’ve been watching them since I was real little.”

Pack (6-1, 213, 4.5) is rated the nation’s No. 26 inside linebacker. He also sports offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Auburn.
Asked if he had any favorites at this point, he said: “Florida State and Tennessee. Those are going to be two of my official visits. I’ve set up Tennessee for Dec. 12. I don’t have a date yet for Florida State, but I definitely will.
“The main things I like about those schools are their tradition and the way they play defense. They always have great defense.”
Pack said he’s “open” in regard to his other three official visits. He noted that Ole Miss (3-0 in the SEC) has been playing some good football of late.
“They might be one,” he said.
He’s made two unofficial visits – Southern Miss for the Nebraska game and Alabama for the Oklahoma game.
Pack has helped lead Oak Grove to an 8-0 record and the No. 3 ranking in Class 5A this season. He didn’t know his full defensive statistics, but has gained 960 yards and scored 18 touchdowns doubling as a tailback.
Academically, he maintains a 3.73 GPA and has scored a 17 on the ACT.
