Batesville (Miss.) South Panola defensive back Mario Bobo has a leader and a close second as his recruitment enters the home stretch.
“Right now, I have Mississippi State No. 1 and Tennessee No. 2,” he said. “I’ve been to Mississippi State (Jan. 9), and I’ll be going to Tennessee this weekend.”

Anything he’ll be keeping a close eye on?
“I want to see how the people are, mainly,” Bobo said. “I want to see if I fit in there as good as I do at Mississippi State. I guess you could say the overall environment is what will help me make my final decision.
“I want to see how I relate to the coaches, too. I really like coach Croom a lot. He seems like a real honest guy you’d like to play for. I think he’s going to get Mississippi State headed back in the right direction.”
Bobo (6-1, 175, 4.49) had 90 tackles, 18 pass break-ups and six interceptions. He finished his prep career with an eye-popping 26 interceptions.
