Magnolia ATH to visit Bama

Jackson (Miss.) Provine athlete Anthony Johnson is one of the top players in the Magnolia State. His athleticism and versatility could allow him to become a large piece to one school's signing class and this weekend he takes his only out of state official visit.
"I am still planning on visiting Alabama this weekend," Johnson said. "I took a trip down to Southern Miss back in December and I still have visits left to take. I go to Mississippi State on January 14 and Ole Miss on January 21. I am really planning on taking all of those official visits before I make any kind of final decision or anything like that at all, but you never I guess."

Johnson attended the NIKE camp in Baton Rouge in early May. He registered in at 5-foot-10 and weighed 188 pounds. He ran a solid 4.6 second 40-yard dash, had a 4.25 second shuttle, posted a 31.5-inch vertical jump and did 15 reps on the bench press.
"I am pretty much down to these four schools," Johnson said. "They are all pretty close to home, within just a few hours drive, they are all programs that have a chance to win a lot of games and I like the coaches at all of those schools. I feel like I could go into any one of them and compete for early playing time which is something that is pretty important to me. I don't really have one of those over any of the other."
As a junior he had 24 catches for 639 yards and 11 touchdowns, but also added seven interceptions as a 4A all-state performer.
