Maddox names final four official visits

Three-star safety John Maddox out of Philadelphia (Pa.) West Catholic was rumored to be visiting Michigan State for an official visit this past weekend when they hosted Michigan. The 6-foot-2, 164-pounder didn't end up making the visit and instead is looking to head there later this season. When does Maddox plan to go?
"I'm thinking about scheduling to go there for the Penn State game on November 18th," he said. "I already went to North Carolina and I'm also planning to schedule my other officials with Purdue, Syracuse and West Virginia. I play most of my games on Staurdays so it could be hard for me to schedule my visits during the season. I chose those schools though because they have shown the most interest in me and I'm very comfortable with their coaches. I talk to them a lot."

Despite naming five schools for officials, Maddox isn't ruling out a couple others.
"I'm still looking at Notre Dame and Rutgers for visits," he said. "I'm considering them a little less than the other schools as both of them aren't showing me as much interest."
The No. 25 safety in the country has helped West Catholic to an impressive 4-1 season so far.
"Our team is very competitive and we are strong, but very quick and fast," he said. "We're still looking to go for that number one spot. As for myself, I'm just looking to be an impact player and help our team win."
Last game Maddox helped his team to a 42-6 victory over Cardinal Dougherty.
"The game went great and I had two catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. I also had seven tackles on defense and five deflections," he said. "I wasn't all that happy with my performance. Let's just say I'll take the win over how I played."
