Madaris talks decision timetable

Three-star wide receiver Monty Madaris helped lead his Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller team to a 27-24 win over rival St. Xavier on Friday night. Afterward he talked about where things stood in his recruitment and when he might make his final decision.
"I'm thinking about [recruiting] every day," Madaris said. "I'm not necessarily ready to make that decision, but it will happen after the season."

The 6-2, 190-pound Madaris has collected 17 scholarship offers over the course of his recruitment, and has not narrowed his list down to a smaller number of contenders. He maintains contact with each coaching staff that is recruiting him.
"This whole month, all 17 schools have been contacting me," Madaris said. "Florida State, Michigan State, Michigan, UC, Nebraska - that's who I all talked to this week."
Madaris has yet to schedule his official visits, but does plan to visit college programs this fall to check out the game day atmospheres.
"I might be going to Kentucky tomorrow, depending on how I feel," Madaris said.
In the meantime, Madaris has helped his Moeller team get out to a 5-0 start to this season, including Friday night's win over rival and nationally ranked St. Xavier at the University of Cincinnati's Nippert Stadium. Madaris was beaming after the win, knowing his school had bragging rights for the next 52 weeks.
"Moeller and St. X absolutely hate each other," Madaris said after the game. "If we say each other out in public, we don't even say anything. That's how intense it is."
