Madaris lays out his official visits plan

The recruitment of Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller three-star Monty Madaris was quiet throughout the fall, but with his senior season now complete, the action is heating up again for the 6-2, 190-pound wide receiver.
Madaris took his first two official visits of the recruiting process earlier this month. The weekend of Dec. 9 he was in East Lansing for an official visit with Michigan State.

"It was a great experience," Madaris said. "I loved the coaches, the players showed me a good time and all around, they are definitely one of my top teams."
A trip to Cincinnati immediately followed Madaris' visit to Michigan State. Although there was a strong familiarity with the hometown school going in, Madaris still walked out with a new look on the program.
"It definitely showed me different things about UC that I did not know about," Madaris said. "Being from here we hear all about the games, but I learned more about the team so it was a really good experience."
Heading into the holiday dead period, Madaris had tentatively scheduled official visits with Michigan (Jan. 13), Kentucky (Jan. 20) and Florida State (Jan. 27), but there is still time for other teams to move in and replace one of his final three official visits.
"It depends on who comes in that first week after the dead period is over," Madaris said. "Then, we'll go from there."
For the last several months Madaris' recruitment has progressed slowly, but now it is progressing at a more rapid pace he will not be averse to ending it quickly.
"If I fall in love with a school when I go there, I'll commit right away," Madaris said. "Otherwise I will wait until Signing Day."
