Madaris closing in on a decision

Few of the top prospects in the Midwest remain open, but one recruitment still be watched closely by recruiting fans is that of Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller wide receiver Monty Madaris. The 6-2, 190-pound Madaris updated his recruitment Thursday night.
There was talk that Madaris could commit as soon as this weekend, but reached Thursday night Madaris said he had no set timetable for his decision.

"I don't know when I am going to commit yet," Madaris said. "It will probably be earlier than [National Signing Day]."
Madaris was fresh off of hosting Cincinnati assistant coach Kerry Coombs in-home on Thursday. He has not had any head coach in-home visits yet, but had talked with several coaches about setting those up for next week.
"We haven't set any dates yet… I just said next week sometime," Madaris said.
Official visits were taken to Michigan State and Cincinnati in December, but Madaris has not taken any official visits since and does not have any planned for the remainder of the recruiting process. That does not mean, however, that Michigan State and Cincinnati are the only two teams under consideration.
"Kentucky is still in and Florida State," Madaris said. "I might go down to [Florida State]… things could change. I have been down there already."
Madaris has also made an unofficial visit to Kentucky already. He came off his official visit to Cincinnati in mid-December saying he learned things about the hometown school he did not previously know. His trip to Michigan State earlier that month also gave him a better feel for the Spartans' program.
"I'm comfortable with them," he said of Michigan State. "I like the coaches and the school. An old teammate of mine, Marcus Rush, is there."
With his decision nearing, Madaris is in consultation with his family and coaches at Moeller High about which school he should choose.
"It all comes down to I am going to go to the school I feel most comfortable at," Madaris said.
