Madaras dealing with recruiting

Junior offensive lineman Mike Madaras of Olney (Md.) Our Lady of Good Counsel already holds multiple offers, but is taking a casual approach to the process. This approach will take him to his first junior day this Saturday, and a few more possible visits along the way.
Madaras, 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, already holds offers from Maryland, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, N.C. State and Purdue.

"Recruiting is going pretty well," he said. "I don't have many visits planned yet, but I am going to Maryland on Saturday for a junior day."
The NCAA ruling that written offers can not be handed out until August 1st of 2011 for the Class of 2012 has left Madaras confused at times.
"Honestly it's all a big mess when they aren't official offers," said Madaras. "I think Maryland, West Virginia and Pitt are showing the most interest now, but I can't really tell anymore because of all the coaching changes. I'm not sure if I'll be recruited by the same schools or not just yet."
Aside from his upcoming visit to Maryland, he will try to keep his visits mainly local for now.
"I'll probably just visit the schools within a manageable drive," said Madaras. "The furthest probably being Virginia Tech."
During his junior season, Madaras was able to show off his athleticism by playing on both sides of the line.
"I mostly played left tackle, but in the big games I played pretty much everywhere on the defensive line also," said Madaras. "As for Good Counsel, we won the WCAC and were ranked first in the Washington area. It was a great season."
