Mack receives Big 12 interest

Edmond (Okla.) Santa Fe linebacker Austin Mack looks the part at 5-11, 220, and Sunday at the Next Level Athlete Camp in Plano, Texas he showed himself to be one of the top linebackers in attendance.
Mack sees himself as a middle backer. It's where he is comfortable. He has the build and loves the position for many reasons.

"You have to be physical. You have to be strong," Mack said. "That's why I'm in the weight room every day and running and lifting and getting stronger."
The recruiting process is beginning to pick up steam with a Big 12 program leading the way.
"I just recently received my first letter in the mail. It came to my house," Mack said. "K-state invited me to their camp. April 9 I think that's where it was so that's where I'll be going."
Mack plans to stay in touch with the Wildcat coaches, and this summer he plans to hit the college camp circuit.
"I'm planning on going to a lot of them," Mack said. "Tulsa, OU, Texas, and a few more."
It is still very early in the recruiting process and is still taking in all options. However, he did admit growing up one program had his attention.
"I really liked Tulsa," Mack said. "Just the atmosphere. It's so big. Here in the next month I'm going to take a visit up there. I like it."
As a junior in 2012, Mack recorded 84 tackles and a sack for the Santa Fe Wolves.
