Mack looking forward to Under Armour game

Daylon Mack and Malik Jefferson did not play high school ball together, but since the start of their recruiting process they have entertained the idea of playing at the next level together if the conditions were right for both.

Mack, a four-star defensive tackle, committed to Texas A&M in October of 2013, and Jefferson, a five-star outside linebacker, remains uncommitted. The Aggies are jockeying for both, but then again so are LSU, Texas and TCU.
While it remains uncertain if the two Rivals100 athletes will play together in college, what is certain is that they will play as Under Armour All-Americans together. The Under Armour committee stopped in Mesquite (Texas) and presented Jefferson with his jersey a little over a week ago, and on Friday Mack added the same prestigious honor to his resume when the committee arrived at Gladewater High School and he was presented as an Under Armour All-American.
"It means a lot to me, and it's something I've been wanting to do for quite some time now," said Mack.
Mack is a regular when it comes to the national stage, with back-to-back appearances at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge as a junior and senior. In the past at such events Mack has done his fair share of recruiting for the Aggies, but this time around it's his last rodeo and he just wants to have some fun.
"I won't be doing any recruiting," he said. "I'll just be going up there and having fun like the rest of the 2015 class."
In years past Mack tuned in to ESPN and watched some of the well known names heard across the college football landscape today, including the Aggies true freshman fearsome pass-rusher.
"Myles Garrett stood out to me last year," said Mack. "I liked watching him play."
Now it's his turn, and Mack can't be more excited to put recruiting aside and play with his partner in crime.
"I can't wait for me and Malik to be out there on defense together," said Mack. "I know that is going to be really fun."
Even though Mack is wanting to keep recruiting on the back burner, he did comment on the Aggies taking down the "team of destiny" over the weekend.
"I think the A&M win over Auburn was a much needed one," said Mack, "Especially to boost the team morale."
