Harris chose the Hokies over offers from Virginia, Michigan, Southern Cal, Miami and others. He had 40+ offers and will be a shutdown cornerback for the Hokies at 6-foot-0, 185-pounds.
"All the schools were great," he said. "They all had what I needed to be successful in the future."
Most expected Harris to choose the Hokies from the beginning of the process, but he said it wasn't a choice that was made for him.
" I didn't like that pipeline. In fact, it kind of turned me off to Virginia Tech from the get-go. It was unnecessary pressure."
During his senior season, Harris rushed for 2,181 yards and 26 touchdowns also added a score on defense. He scored a total of 196 points.
