MAC schools are first to offer FB Brown

Fullback Haroon Brown out of Hampton (Va.) Phoebus has picked up a couple offers recently. The 5-foot-11, 235-pounder got the scholarships from the MAC.
"He has a couple offers now from Miami (Ohio) and Akron," Phoebus head coach William Dee said. "Right now the ACC schools are taking a wait and see approach because most schools don't use a fullback. If they did, he's a real good player with good hands that can catch it out of the backfield. I'd say he has the best hands on the team.

"Teams are very interested to see how he plays at linebacker. Most teams want him for that position, but he hasn't played it full-time. He certainly has the size and speed to play it though and I think he could be a good one. It'll be interesting to see how he does there next season."
Brown is hoping to start getting noticed early as he intends to head to Maryland for camp this summer.
Dee can't wait to see how his star fullback plays next year.
"Haroon has really developed and I'm expecting a big senior year out of him," he said. "In just the last two games he gained over 300 yards rushing and was dominant using his power. He particularly was very good at short yardage. He did all of that in just his first year at Phoebus and we're expecting him to come around this fall."
Brown ran for 500 yards and 10 touchdowns last season on his way to earning second team all-district honors.
