MA lineman is a versatile prospect

Defensive tackle Danton Brewington out of Northfield (Mass.) Northfield Mount Hermon is a versatile prospect that is being looked at for a handful of positions at the next level. What makes the 6-foot-2, 275-pounder stand out as a player in the 2007 class?
"He has tremendous speed and agility particularly for a guy with his size," Northfield Mount Hermon head coach Mike Atkins said. "He is a pretty good athlete that plays on the defensive and offensive line for us. Danton has very good upper body strength, footwork and knows how to get after it on every play.

"Notre Dame actually is looking at him a lot and he really impressed them last year at camp. They are recruiting him at fullback because of his strength and quickness."
Besides the Irish, schools including Arizona State, Syracuse, Boston College, Northwestern and Stanford have shown interest in the lineman prospect. Currently Atkins claims Brewington has no favorites at this time.
Brewington is not only a solid player, but also a good character person.
"He has wonderful leadership and is a role model for our students here," he said. "He is a presence in the classroom and comes from a very supportive family situation. His dad, Duane is actually a former All-American football player from one of the smaller Florida schools and his uncle plays in NFL Europe."
Last season Brewington earned honorable mention all-New England.
