MA big man gets first offer

Taunton (Mass.) Boston College defensive end/offensive tackle Chris Marinelli was one of the biggest players at our Rivals.com New Jersey Junior Day this past month. His size and ability have earned him his first offer.
"Duke offered me," said the 6-foot-6, 270-pounder. "They came to my school this week and said they were offering and that the letter would be sent out in a couple of days. I was suprised because Duke hadn't even seemed extremely interested before that."

What did the Blue Devils say?
"They said that they are looking for solid defensive lineman to fit their style of game. So I know if I went there I would play defensive line," he said. "Also, Duke is one of my top three or five schools.
"I love the area, how close it is, and I especially love the academics. Duke has an excellent medical school which I plan to attend wherever I go to college. I am very excited and hope more offers are soon to come. I am now considering Duke a lot more than before. No doubt, they are one of my favorites."
Marinelli is also interested in Boston College, Stanford, Arizona State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and UConn.
"I just went to BC for their Spring Game and they've always been my favorite school, but now that Duke offered I'm really looking at them just as much," he said. "I also like the academics and reputation of the others on my list."
Marinelli will camp at Duke, BC and Stanford this summer.
