Lyons plans to make Pac-10 trip

A few days before he got his first and only offer so far, Matthew Lyons' mother asked him which school is his early favorite and he said Washington.
Then the Huskies offered and it was stunning to the Los Angeles Dorsey outside linebacker and also a positive sign since he likes Washington a lot.

"I got it in February during school the coach called me and then I talked to (Steve) Sarkisian after that and then I'm supposed to be going down there on the 30th for the spring game and I'm going to go with my mom and sister to see the campus and stuff," Lyons said.
"Before that my mom asked me, 'Who is your top school?' and it was Washington and then a few days after that they were the first to offer me so it was shocking for them to be my first. I was excited when I got it."
Lyons, a 6-foot-2, 178-pound recruit who missed about two weeks of school recently and dropped some weight with a bout of cellulitis, has an offer from Washington and said he's mainly hearing from Arizona, Baylor, Texas Tech and Arizona State.
The Huskies stand out though because he's already been to the Seattle area and likes it and will return for Washington's spring game with his family. Sarkisian and his coaching staff have made a good impression on Lyons already and that will play a major factor when it comes to decision time.
What's also important is that Lyons, who also lists UCLA, USC, Cincinnati and Oregon State on his Rivals.com database page, plans to enroll early so getting visits done soon will be crucial in his decision-making process.
"My mom wants me to visit as many places as possible but I want to make my decision early because I want to enroll early," said Lyons, who attended the recent Rivals.com Five-Star Academy at UCLA. "I'm working on getting my credits so I can get to school early."
