Lyles on verge of more offers

Defensive back Nate Lyles is regarded as one of Illinois' top players, and he already has an impressive offer list. Are other schools on the verge of offering?
"Yes, I think there are a few schools that are very close to offering me," said Lyles. "Michigan is one school that has really given me some good signals lately. They have a great team this year and they played incredible on Saturday (38-0 win over Notre Dame). Nebraska is very interested too, and I think I'll get an offer from them before too long. There are a couple more that have basically said they're on the verge."

The 6-foot-0, 195-pound cornerback/running back runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and is a dynamic playmaker for Chicago (Ill.) Hubbard.
"Recruiting has definitely become interesting again, now that coaches can call," he said. "For a long time I was just getting letters, and that was kind of a breath of fresh air at first. But then you start to realize that there really isn't too much time before you have to make a decision and you want to talk to these coaches. I'm glad I'm able to interact with coaches from schools like Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Iowa, Wisconsin and the others I've been interested in again."
Does Lyles have any leaders?
"Any school that is showing a lot of interest, or any school that has offered is still in the mix. I'm not eliminating schools yet, just taking a look at what each place has to offer. When I schedule my official visits, and then when I compare them I'll have a better idea of who my leaders are."
As a junior defensive back Lyles intercepted three passes. He currently has offers from Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana and Virginia.
Lyles has an official visit set with UVA for Nov. 28.
