Lund locks in Stanford trip

Stanford's big season-ending matchup against Notre Dame is sure to draw plenty of interested eyes across the country given the College Football Playoff implications, and the weekend is shaping up to be an important one for the Cardinal in terms of recruiting.
Count four-star linebacker Sione Lund among those expected to be in Palo Alto for the massive showdown later this month.

After naming Stanford his No. 1 choice this past summer, the 6-foot, 230-pound prospect from Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton said he's all set up to see the Cardinal in action. Lund, the No. 95-rated recruit in the 2017 rankings, wouldn't completely rule out a possible decision, either.

IN HIS WORDS: "They still stand at the top," Lund told Rivals.com regarding the Cardinal. "Washington, Utah and BYU have been on me the hardest lately along with Stanford, and Notre Dame is still showing lots of love so I'm interested to see everything later this month.
"I'm trying to get out to Notre Dame before they play Stanford, but I guess we'll see if that happens. ... (A decision) could happen after the Stanford visit if I feel it when I'm down there, but I guess we'll see. I might wait to take all my visits and announce after next season."
WHAT'S NEXT?: Lund's high school teammate Simi Fehoko, a four-star wideout, is already committed to the Cardinal and he really loved his trip there for junior day earlier this year. Fighting Irish assistant Todd Lyght has been recruiting Lund but has yet to extend an offer, so it very well could be about which schools gain ground on Stanford down the stretch. Lund is being recruited for the power back position by several programs.
