Lukusa planning spring visits

Traverse City (Mich.) West offensive tackle Thiyo Lukusa originally planned to have his college decision by now, but new offers means new schools he needs to check out.
"I am going to go visit a couple schools on my spring break," Lukusa said. "I am going to try to hit Arkansas. Georgia is a priority, and then after that it is going to be Miami, Florida and Florida State."

Arkansas has been added to Lukusa's tentative spring break visit schedule after the Razorbacks extended an offer to the three-star lineman last week.
"I have been talking to them since well before Signing Day," Lukusa said. "They said to let them finish up there 2015 stuff, but I was one of their guys.
"I know they are an SEC school, so that is very exciting. I know they have one of the premier Business Schools in the country. I know Coach (Sam) Pittman is an old-school guy who has had some success with linemen and Coach (Bret) Bielema has put a lot of guys in the League."
Georgia became a priority for Lukusa to visit after they extended an offer to him back in December.
"Athens is a football community," Lukusa noted. "They just got a new (offensive line) coach, Coach (Rob) Sale. I got the offer under Coach (Will) Friend then Coach Sale took over, so I am interesting in seeing how he is. He seems like a cool guy. I'm just interested to meet the people and see what the South is like compared to the Midwest."
Despite the increased interest from SEC and ACC schools, Lukusa said he still has high interest in Big Ten teams like Michigan State and Ohio State.
"I was at Michigan State for the Michigan basketball game on Super Bowl (Sunday). That was my last college visit," Lukusa said. "I had fun with the guys. They showed me around campus and gave me the player's perspective.
"Before that I was at Ohio State. My mom hadn't been to Ohio State. I am a big fan of Ohio State so for her to see it was very special and I was happy she liked it as well."
Lukusa said he has lost contact with Michigan, another Big Ten school that had offered him awhile back. A total of 11 schools have offered Lukusa and others like Alabama, Auburn and Maryland are showing strong interest.
