Lukusa adds UGA offer

Traverse City (Mich.) West 2016 offensive tackle Thiyo Lukusa named a top six earlier this week, but only three had offered at the time. That number rose to four on Wednesday.
"It probably was pretty (gutsy) to put three schools that haven't offered me in my top five or six, but I am going to keep working until I get all of those," Lukusa said.

The six favorites Lukusa named on Sunday were Auburn, Georgia, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Only the Big Ten schools had offered until Georgia came through with an offer on Wednesday.
"We have been talking for a little bit," Lukusa said of Georgia. "The first thing they told me when we first started talking was they really liked the film. They were a top five team before and they are still a top five team."
Lukusa had been planning to make a visit to Auburn either this upcoming weekend or the weekend of Nov. 22, but now Georgia may supplant the Tigers on the schedule.
"Now that Georgia has offered, they've become a priority," Lukusa said. "Georgia wants me to watch them come play Auburn (Nov. 15), so I am going to talk that over with my mother."
Back in September Lukusa planned to announce a commitment in December, but as the fall has progressed that timetable has been extended.
"I think I am going to push it back a little bit, but because I want to early enroll I can't push it back too far," he said. "The only reason I want to get it done earlier than my senior year is I want to early enroll wherever I go, and I know that's kind of a process."
Lukusa's junior season came to an end last weekend in the first round of the MHSAA state playoffs. Traverse City West finished the year with a 5-5 record.
