Lufkin teammates set annoucement date

Lufkin (Texas) running back E.J. Shankle along with his teammate Leonard Hewitt have been mulling over their college choice for some time and though they have yet to make the decision yet, they have set a date for announcement.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound three-star rated two-way Shankle along with four-star rated Rivals250 safety/wide receiver Hewitt have been focusing on taking their services to either LSU or Texas A&M. However, Shankle reported as of late that those may not be the only schools in the race for the in-season decision.

"We're going to announce during the second game of the season where if one of us makes a big play, then after we score we'll throw up the sign of the school we're going to," Shankle said. "If no one sees it, then we'll just have to announce it at half time or something."
"We also really like Oklahoma State and Utah though even though LSU and Texas A&M are still the leaders."
Another factor is their teammate Mandela Roberts who may be the third factor in this equation. However, Shankle said it won't hold them back for the most part.
"There is still a chance with LSU, but I don't think A&M," Shankle said about Roberts' chances for an offer. "I don't think it will be a huge issue unless LSU offers him, then that would change things."
It appears with the in-state Aggies and out-of-state Tigers battling it out, the upcoming decision has been wearing on the Lufkin duo.
However, Shankle likes the fact that Hewitt and him are together on this.
"It's kind of made it easier because there are schools I wouldn't have been considering at all if Leonard wasn't going to be there," Shankle said. "No one would have been at these places that I knew."
"It will be good to get it done."
