Lufkin teammates preparing group pledge

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Package deals rarely happen considering there are so many factors, but Lufkin (Texas) running back E.J. Shankle and four-star Rivals250 safety Leonard Hewitt are preparing for a team decision.
LSU and Texas A&M appear to be the two remaining teams for the duo, as they have been for some time, and repeat visits to both schools will highlight the next two weeks leading up to their pick. According to the two they are adamant about sitting down together and deciding what's best for the both of them. Their teammate could be included as well.

"I know we're going to LSU on July 25 and for their camp to just check out the school, not to work out," Shankle said. "Then it's Texas A&M the next week to see the school. We'll probably give it another two weeks and make the decision from there.
According to the 5-foot-10, 175-pound defensive back Hewitt, there is no question that this planned package commitment is solid as a rock.
"It's a done deal, wherever we decide to play, we're both going," Hewitt said. "We're adding one more to the pack with Mandela Roberts. He's going to see if an offer is coming and then head out with us."
The connection to former teammates extends farther than the current class. Hewitt sees Lufkin players all over both teams and wants to extend the tradition.
"I say that, because even if we go to A&M there is Jorvorskie Lane or (Alton) Dixon or guys that have gone to LSU," Hewitt said. "You go and play with your buddies."
"That's a lifetime dream some people don't get to do."
Roberts, who just picked up first two offers from UTEP and Stephen F. Austin, is just hoping for the opportunity.
"I spoke with coach (Bradley) Peveto and it sounds good for LSU," Roberts said. "If I don't get the offer then it may not happen with those guys, but it's still looking good so far."
