Lucky seven coming for Pickett

Adarius Pickett is just days away from releasing his top seven as the four-star cornerback tries to get a better handle on his recruitment and get closer to a decision.
The El Cerrito, Calif., standout is calling his list the Lucky Seven.

"I'm going to come out with a lucky seven pretty soon," Pickett said. "It's probably going to come out probably right before the season.
"I'm still looking at a few. I know a couple schools will make it for sure right now. Other schools I'm still considering."
Pickett, who starts preseason practice on Aug. 12, has also scheduled his first official visit. He will be at UCLA for its season opener later this month against Nevada.
A trip to USC is also expected and Pickett said he could look at an official visit to Arizona State but no dates have been finalized except for his upcoming trip to Westwood.
"I scheduled one visit to UCLA the first week for when they play against Nevada," Pickett said.
"That will be my first official visit and then after that I know I'm going to try to take one to USC but I don't know when yet. I could possibly take one to Arizona State but I don't know yet."
Among his seven favorites should be Cal, the local favorite and one of the programs that has been recruiting Pickett the longest.
Fans should not expect an official trip to Berkeley, though, since Pickett is so familiar with the program he said he probably doesn't need one there.
The El Cerrito standout is expected at Cal's Monday workout.
"I'm going to be at Cal so much I don't think I need to take an official," Pickett said. "I'm going to be there a lot. I might be going up there (Monday) for the first day of practice."
El Cerrito teammate Derik Calhoun committed to USC this summer. Pickett has made it known that it could play an influence as his recruitment continues.
