Lucien hopeful for more offers

Devin Lucien has now been timed at 4.49 seconds in the 40-yard dash and he performed well at the recent UCLA Above and Beyond Football Camp so the Encino (Calif.) Crespi wide receiver hopes his recruitment continues to move forward with more offers.
After visiting UCLA and talking with the coaching staff, Lucien is hopeful the Bruins could be next to offer because that would move them even higher on his list. Lucien said UCLA would have to be seriously considered if it came through with an offer.

"I wanted to get a really good time because I knew a lot of people who analyze me and what I do say I don't have that elite speed," Lucien said. "I wanted to go out and show everybody I can run a fast 40. At the same time I don't think the 40 is all that important because you don't always just run straight in the game.
"All (the UCLA coaching staff) said was that they really like me and that they're going to be calling me and keeping in touch with me so we'll see what happens from there. I'm really hoping they offer though.
"I'd consider them a lot if they offered me. I like them a lot. It would be cool to go to a school in California and I would be really high on UCLA if they offered me."
Air Force, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, New Mexico State, Oregon State, San Diego State and Tulsa have already offered Lucien, a 6-foot-1, 189-pound prospect who's rated as the No. 41 wide receiver in the 2011 class by Rivals.com.
He hopes a busy summer could garner him even more offers. He performed well at the recent UCLA camp and this weekend he could attend a camp at Southern Cal or head to Arizona State.
Lucien, one of the standouts at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp this spring, said he's also planning to camp at Cal and Oregon and is considering trips to Boise State and Colorado but nothing has been finalized yet.
"I'm just waiting it out to do some more camps and I'll see where I stand at the end of recruiting," Lucien said.
