IN HIS OWN WORDS: "I have offers from Mississippi State, Kentucky and Toledo," said Lucas. "Georgia, Alabama and UAB are also showing interest in me. I am ready to see how the recruiting process is. I want to experience it to the fullest and just enjoy it."

MISSISSIPPI STATE WAS FIRST: "They were the first school to offer me and it came in the summer time. I talked to coach [D.J.] Looney and I couldn't believe it. It was a blessing and I was excited about it. I went there over the summer and I liked how it was out there. It is a nice campus and I liked working at the camp. I got to see the facilities, work with the coaches and I like them a lot. Them being first to offer will always have them on my mind."

KENTUCKY WAS NEXT: "The coaching staff really stood out to me when I was at Kentucky for camp. They are family-based and I like that a lot. They hit up my coach and my coach let me know that I had the offer. I was in church when I found out, so that was great. I liked it up there around the coaches and I hope to get back."

FALL PLANS: "I definitely want to get back to Mississippi State and Kentucky for games this season. I also want to get over to Georgia for a game. I camped there and I liked it. Alabama is another school I hope to see play."

WHAT LUCAS IS LOOKING FOR: "Playing time is something I will be looking at and I would like to be closer to home. I would love to stay in the South. Academics are also important to me, so that will be a factor for me too."

ON HIS GAME: "I have been working on just getting better at doing my assignments. I feel I have tried to do too much in the past, so this off-season, I have worked on just doing the assignment and I know that will make the team better.

RIVALS REACTION: Lucas is just excited about what is happening for him right now. He does not have an early leader, but he has interest in the schools that are showing it in him. He grew up in a home of Alabama fans, so an offer from the Crimson Tide would be big for Lucas and his family. He is most excited about going through the recruiting process and just seeing what happens next.
