Six games into his senior year, 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end/defenseive end John Lubischer out of Boca Raton, Fla. has not only impressed opposing teams with his excellent play, but college coaches have taken notice as each week passes.
"I've been receiving a lot of calls during the week from so many different schools," said Lubischer. "I still have the same six offers, but my coach told me that he spoke to a few schools that will be offering in the next week or so."
Lubischer's six official offers are from NC State, Duke, Mississippi, Northwestern, Central Florida and South Florida.
Through six games, Lubischer has 18 catches for close to 300 yards and five touchdowns, including a 75-yard catch and run. When it comes to blocking, Lubischer has 18 pancake blocks. On the defensive side of the ball, he has 35 tackles, five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and an interception for a touchdown.
"I play offense with a defensive mentality, but it's pretty tough playing both ways in the Florida heat," he said. "I'm playing against some pretty big people each game and it can wear you out by the fourth quarter."
Lubischer is still interested in other schools like Boston College, Rutgers, Connecticut, Clemson, South Carolina and a few others.
