Lubischer decides to be a Blue Devil

Boca Raton, Fla. tight end John Lubischer concluded his recruitment over the weekend by committing to Duke on his official visit. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder chose the Blue Devils over offers from Clemson, Colorado State, Connecticut, Ole Miss and North Carolina State among others.
"Out of respect I pulled coach David Kelly aside right before dinner on Friday and told him I've seen everything I need to and that I was committing," he said. "He was overjoyed and then brought over coach Roof who I told the same thing to. He told me that was great and welcome to the family."

What made Lubischer decide on Duke?
"I always had Duke on the top of my list and I went there wanting to see the players attitudes," he said. "They were all upbeat and are looking to turn it around and win and that's their main goal. The guys there were great and everyone treated us like kings, I loved everything about it and knew it was the right decision."
The three-star prospect is relieved to have a decision behind him.
"I'm excited and feel great know that I know where I'm going and I'm ready to go there and start playing," he said. "They've recruited me as a tight end and the coaches even talked to me about playing early. I plan to train non-stop until I get there and run a lot."
Lubischer had a final word to say to Duke's fans.
"I want to thank them for their support," he said. "I also want to tell that that they should be ready to see this thing turn around because it's going to happen. I wouldn't be going to a place unless I thought they'd be winning and that's why I want to be apart of it."
