LSU recently landed the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana when five-star wide receiver Terrace Marshall signed with the Tigers on Dec. 22. And while LSU still has a few spots to fill in the 2018 class, elite prospects from the 2019 class like Rivals100 athlete Trey Palmer are already feeling the love.

"Coach O came by the school to check on me," Palmer said earlier this month. "It was a good feeling to see him show that type of interest in me. I know he wants me there."

Palmer said all the schools in his recruitment continue to be on equal footing while he's "living in the moment," but mentioned Alabama as another program that stopped in to check in him on recently.

His most recent visit was to LSU, where he took in the Tigers regular season finale against Texas A&M.

"It was a pretty good experience," Palmer said. "The fans were into it, it was a good atmosphere."

Palmer said he's been paying close attention to the Tigers new-look offense this season and has discussed a role similar to that of star wide receiver D.J. Chark with the staff.

"I've been watching and I like some things," Palmer said. "The coaches tell me I can come in and I’ll make big plays and I’ll be a big part of the team and help us get big wins."

Palmer is on record as the Tigers being his "dream school" and while he's keeping things under wraps for now, it looks like LSU remains the team to beat in his recruitment.
