LSU nabs top Tennessee prospect, then offers five Tennessee underclassmen

Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin drew national attention for publicizing an article on Twitter about the Tennessee Volunteers missing on some of the state's top prospects in the Class of 2017. But on Monday, LSU took a tangible shot at the Vols, not only by adding a commitment from Jacoby Stevens, the state's No. 1 prospect in 2017, but by offering six up and coming underclassmen in the state. Here's a rundown of the prospects the Tigers have targeted and where their recruitment stands.

The two-sport star is also being recruited to play basketball, but likely has the higher ceiling on the gridiron. The Vols remain the early favorite for Johnson's signature.

In His Words: "The offer definitely meant a lot to me and it was a surprise a little bit. LSU is definitely an intriguing school and they're always in the hunt for the SEC title. They have produced some great receivers over the years and there offense is a style I could definitely see myself fitting into. I can't wait until I get to see a game and see how crazy that atmosphere is."
