LSU, MD among first to offer DE/LB

The first of what could be many scholarship offers have started to materialize for Tucker (Ga.) standout Brandon Lang.
Coming off a junior season which saw him record 50 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 16 sacks, Lang (6-5, 220, 4.5) has received offers from Maryland, LSU, Illinois, Louisville, Middle Tennessee and Troy State.

“He’s also getting heavy interest from most of the SEC and ACC,” Tucker coach Bill Ballard said. “Schools like Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky, Clemson, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State… they’ve all shown interest. He's had some interest from people like Penn State, Michigan and West Virginia as well. Things are really starting to pick up with him.
“Brandon’s a kid with huge upside. He’s got such great growth potential to go along with his speed. He could be a stand-up outside linebacker type or a kid who plays with his hand down, depending on the system. He could be something special coming off the edge after a year or two in a college weight program.”
Ballard said Lang doesn’t have any clear-cut favorites at this point, but Georgia would be in a solid position if the Bulldogs offer a scholarship.
