LSU lands 2024 four-star TE Tayvion Galloway

LSU continues their recruiting hot streak with the commitment of electric 2024 four-star tight end Tayvion Galloway. The Chillicothe (Oh.) standout becomes commitment No. 13 for the Tigers in the month of July and joins a 2024 LSU recruiting class that was already ranked No. 7 prior to his pledge.

Shortly before announcing his decision moments ago, Galloway took some time to answer a few questions about being the Tigers' newest commit.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

How does it feel to be LSU’s newest commit?

"I honestly just feel extremely blessed and humbled. To think I’ve came this far and knowing God has a lot more planned for me just keeps me hungry and motivated."

You had the opportunity to go pretty much anywhere you wanted and still have plenty of time left in high school. What about LSU made you say this is the place for me and why was the time now?

"It’s hard to really just say one thing that completely sold me on this school. One of the biggest things was definitely the love and hospitality they showed to me and everyone I brought with me. Ever since my first visit there, I was nothing short of amazed. My second trip around they just secured it with me and I knew that’s where I want to play."

Was there any coaches, players or recruits that you really connected with at LSU during the recruiting process?

"I have connected with a few recruits, you know just trying to get the best in the nation to play with."

As LSU’s newest commit, what are your next plans?

"Just continue to grind like no other and prepare for the upcoming season as it’s right around the corner."

RIVALS REACTION...

Tayvion Galloway has as much upside as any tight end prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle. He is one of the few players in his class with the size to line up as a true on the ball tight end and the athleticism to flex out as a jumbo receiver. Linebackers will struggle carrying him up the seam, defensive backs will struggle with his size, and Galloway is pretty much a mismatch waiting to happen no matter where he lines up on the field.

Many young tight ends with Galloway's skill-set take most pride in their ability as a receiving threat, but that is not the case with Galloway, as he loves getting after defenders as a tenacious blocker as well. In addition to his physical skill-set, Galloway has the intangibles, work ethic, character and desire to be great. This is a big time pick-up for Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers.
