LSU keeps working to land '19 Tennessee DB Wesley Walker

The Latest: LSU has had its success in the state of Tennessee in recent years and the Tigers are already laying the groundwork with some of the state’s top underclassmen prospects. One player who has already taken a shine to the Tigers is Class of 2019 defensive back Wesley Walker. Rivals.com caught up with Walker to talk about LSU and his plans to visit campus this spring.

In His Words: “I’ll be for sure going down to LSU this spring. They’re talking to me; I’ve been talking to them for a while since they offered me during the summer. That’s been my favorite school growing up. I haven’t been down there before so I want to get down there and see it. I’ve been a fan since Trindon Holliday was there but Tyrann Mathieu was when I was like, ‘This is my favorite team’ he was one of the players that stood out the most to me. I know Jacoby Stevens and he’s going down there and he’s told me it’s a great place so I want to see it for myself.”

On where he would like to visit: “I’ve been getting a lot of mail from Oregon. I haven’t seen the facilities out there but I’ve heard good stuff about. I’ve heard that’s what recruits rave about so I want to be able to go up there and see that for sure.”

Rivals Reaction: Walker was part of a group of five prospects to be offered by LSU in the late summer and the Tigers have clearly made him an early priority. The next step will be getting him to campus. After landing Jacoby Stevens in the class of 2017 and also targeting several 2018 prospects in the state it’s clear the Tigers will continue to make Tennessee a priority.
