LSU DB commit Jacoby Stevens says Alabama official "has me thinking"

The Latest: Despite the fact that he's been committed to LSU since August, Alabama head coach Nick Saban hasn't given up on Rivals100 defensive back Jacoby Stevens. In fact, the two have a weekly phone call on Wednesdays, where they discuss life, football and Stevens potential fit with the Tide. So when Stevens was in Tuscaloosa this past weekend for his official visit, hanging out with Saban at his house felt like nothing new. But did his time around the Tide make Stevens reconsider his commitment? Rivals.com caught up with him to get the latest.

In His Words: “I saw everything that I’ve seen before. The visit was nice. I got go to Coach Saban’s house and spend a lot of time with him. We drove up to the lake house and talked football. I talked to Coach Ansley, we talked football. We went to the academic center and my mom asked a lot of questions. It definitely has me thinking, just because when Coach Saban wants you and when Coach Saban has been pursuing me so heavily it makes you raise an eyebrow."

On How It Impacts his LSU commitment: "It’s also making look at what LSU’s doing. I’m going to kind of make my move off what of Coach O is going to do with his staff. I just know that I have a good backup plan with Alabama."

What was the in-stadium atmosphere like for the Iron Bowl? "The atmosphere was great in the beginning and Alabama pulled away like they usually do and it kind of died off. At the beginning of the game, it’s an atmosphere that any player wants to play for. Coach Saban is such a perfectionist so they make sure his players are prepared. They just kind of knocked Auburn on their heels from the start."

What surprised you most about Coach Saban? "There's two things that stuck out to me. No. 1, Coach Saban is actually one of the funniest guys I’ve ever talked to. He has a great personality and he’s great to talk to, he’s more than just a football coach. He can have a casual conversation with you. Another thing, he talked playing time with me and immediate impact with me. He said I can do an make an immediate impact. It goes a long way coming from him."

Rivals Reaction: Alabama knew that Stevens was going to be tough to flip and after this weekend, it's no different. Unless something drastic happens with the LSU coaching staff, such as Corey Raymond leaving for another school. Expect him to stick with the Tigers.
