LSU could be close to commitment

Buford, Ga. offensive guard Steven Singleton didn't pop up on the recruiting radar as quickly as some prospects, but once he did he made a pretty big splash. He's picked up an impressive list of offers and is closing in on a decision.
"Mississippi State, LSU, South Carolina West Virginia have all called me this month," Singleton said. "I went to the Mississippi State-LSU game and I also went to the Georgia-Boise State game too. I got to talk to coach Croom and coach Beamer at Mississippi State while I was there."

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Singleton runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds and helped lead his team to a class 2A state runner-up season after winning three straight titles.
"My top three right now are LSU, Mississippi State and West Virginia," Singleton said. "I am really favoring LSU pretty strongly though. I love their offensive line coach, I talk to him a lot. My head coach played with him at Auburn and I like their offense."
Singleton is ranked as the No. 36 offensive guard in the country and the No. 41 player in the state of Georgia.
"I am taking my official visit to the LSU-Florida game next week," Singleton said. "That's the only one I have set up so far. I commitment is possible if I go there and it feels like the right fit because I am leaning to them. If I leave and still like I need to take other visits then I will."
