BATON ROUGE, La. - Baton Rouge (La.) Redemptorist running back Jeremy Hill has countless scholarship offers and an early commitment to LSU as part of its already highly-touted class. With nothing to gain or prove except respect, Hill didn't hesitate to compete at the LSU Nike Football Training Camp on Saturday. His performance didn't disappoint.
On the day, Hill showed deceptive athleticism, good physicality and a great frame as well as the ability to catch the football out of the backfield. As important as it was for him to show all those skills off, Hill had multiple reasons to be motivated to show, one of which was to stand tall with the rest of an impressive early class of 2011 LSU commitments.
"We talked a lot about that early," Hill said. "We said we were all going to come. We tried to get most guys out here just to show what LSU has for the future. We wanted to compete. We've got a lot of offers but that still doesn't matter. We still want to get out and compete and get back into football mode."

Hill also looked at the camp as an opportunity to compete against some great athletes and prepare for the next level.
"I really just want to get back into competition," he said. "I really haven't seen top tier competition in a while and I just wanted to get out and see how I react to it and get ready for the next level because everybody is going to be good so you have to get as much competition as you can before you get there."
The next level for Hill consists of the SEC and the home-state LSU Tigers. At least that's his current plan. Hill has already taken a couple of other visits this spring and though he is firm in his commitment to LSU, he does want to see what else is out there.
Currently Hill has at least three visits set up for this summer.
"I'm trying to get about three visits over the summer in Southern California, Miami and probably go to Ole Miss," he said. "During the season I'm going to go to a couple of Bama games and just check other places out a little bit."
Hill explained his approach to the process as just seeing what else is out there.
"When I committed the coaches knew that I committed early and they knew the recruiting process wasn't over and understood I wanted to take some visits," he said. "I just wanted to see what else is out there and see if they're the best situation for me. I know LSU is stacked and there may be another place but right now it's LSU."
