LSU close to offering in-state tackle

Slidell (La.) Northshore offensive tackle Tyler Unsworth has always claimed offers from several schools such as Mississippi State, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M, and Louisiana Tech. One school he is still waiting on apparently may be getting close to an offer.
Unsworth, the No. 19 rated prospect in the state of Louisiana, is a three-star offensive tackle that has been pretty clear about wanting to see more interest from LSU. A phone call a couple of nights ago may have the picture clearing.

"I talked to the coaches at LSU the other night and they said that they're looking to take a lot of offensive lineman," Unsworth said. "They also said they're putting priority on in-state guys and it means a lot to him to go after us first. He said that there is a pretty high possibility that they'll offer."
If an LSU offer comes, Unsworth did not say he would commit on the spot. However, he has only received calls from LSU and Southern Mississippi. This past weekend he took a trip to see Southern Miss.
"I went to the game, which was great, and I got a chance to talk with a lot of the coaches," Unsworth said. "Them and LSU have really been the only coaches that have called because I think the other schools don't have my number or something."
As for a decision, Unsworth is playing in a few high school events as an invited prospect and then he will make a decision.
"After I get done with that, I want to see where my offers stand," he said. "As of right now, I'm not ready to make any big decisions."
