LSU Camp: Top offensive performers

Recruiting Wrap: Davis holds scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Alabama LSU, and Florida State.
Performance: Saturday Drake Davis made his presence known in all of about two seconds. He arrived, he stretched, he went to work. His feet were quick. His routes were quick. His catch radius was wide. He shook defenders left and right. He made quick work of his competition and showed he could handle the quick, the strong, the big, and the athletic.
3
TE
Jamal Pettigrew
New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine
Recruiting Wrap: Pettigrew is committed to LSU.
Performance: Pettigrew has shown himself to be an athletic tight end with length who is capable of making big plays as a receiver. He did not disappoint. He used his length to go up and high point the ball. His big, soft hands made him a large target during 7-on-7 and his feet allowed him to separate from linebackers in one-on-ones.
4
OG
Donavaughn Campbell
Ponchatoula (La.)
Recruiting Wrap: Campbell is committed to LSU.
Performance: It is easy to see Campbell has put in a lot of work over the last few years. He continues to show vast improvements. He looks like he is in better shape and he moves better on his feet. He has always been known for his strength as a road grader, but he also looked good in pass protection during one-on-ones. He also finishes blocks really well and loves to drive his guy into the dirt.
5
WR
Brandon Johnson
Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage
Recruiting Wrap: Johnson has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and several others.
Performance: It seems like this guy made plays every time you looked up. He has good size at 6-foot-2, but in this group he's not the biggest. However, he was able to get the best of a strong defensive back group for most of the past two days. He has been sure-handed and created separation with his crisp route running. It was a very consistent performance for the Florida standout.
6
WR
Dee Anderson
DeSoto (Texas)
Recruiting Wrap: Anderson is committed to LSU.
Performance: This time last year, Anderson planted himself firmly on the radar of LSU coaches. Now he returns to Baton Rouge as a longtime commit and an LSU camp veteran. He has added some weight to his frame and maintains the quick footwork and polish that quickly caught attention a year ago. His hands were inconsistent on Friday, but he also made some highlight reel catches throughout the day.
7
RB
Clyde Edwards-Helaire
(2017)
Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic
Recruiting Wrap: Edwards currently holds scholarship offers from Nichols, Southern Miss, and LSU.
Performance: Edwards-Hellaire is not the biggest. In fact he is small. However, he is a ball of explosive muscle. He drew comparisons to Darren Sproles and it was not hard to see after watching him run. He is quick, he is versatile, and he left defenders grasping at air any time they tried to catch him. He was one of the more dynamic and fun guys to watch on Friday.
8
WR
Damonte Coxie
Reserve (La.) East St. Johns
Recruiting Wrap: Coxie committed to LSU after a strong camp performance.
Performance: Coxie seemed to be the measuring stick for defensive backs on Friday afternoon. He is a big receiver and he simply ran through defensive backs trying to jam him at the line of scrimmage. He made quick cuts and showed the ability to high point unlike most receivers in attendance. His highlight came toward the end of the Friday session when he ran through a DB then left him looking only to go high for what would normally be an overthrown ball.
9
DQB
Keytaon Thompson (2017)
New Orleans (La.) McDonogh 35
Recruiting Wrap: LSU and Tennessee have made a strong impression on Thompson.
Performance: Thompson has the big arm and he has the ability to put touch on his deep ball. He has a quick release and he threw with some nice velocity throughout the last few days. He also threw with accuracy on the intermediate throws and was able to place the ball where his receivers had a chance to make a play after the catch.
10
OT
Willie Allen
River Ridge (La.) John Curtis
Recruiting Wrap: Ole Miss, LSU and Alabama are among those mentioned the most in connection with Allen.
Performance: There is no doubt what has college coaches high on Willie Allen. He is a big prospect with the ability to get bigger. There were positives and negatives about his performance. He needs to get stronger and play lower, but his footwork was top notch and quick, and he brings flexibility not often found on the offensive line.
11
WR
Tyson Penn
Bellevue (Wash.)
Recruiting Wrap: Penn is committed to Oregon State.
Performance: Penn was quick to catch attention with his size, but he showed he brought more than just that to the table. The 6-foot-5 wide receiver showed some quick footwork and was able to consistently gain separation from defenders. He also showed some really nice hands on Thursday and was able to make slight adjustments on the fly to frame the ball.
12
WR
Christopher Fuller
Monroe (La.) Neville
Recruiting Wrap: McNeese State has offered Fuller.
Performance: Fuller was hard to miss on Friday morning. He ran crisp routes, he created separation, and he caught everything within his reach. He has some nice length and was able to make quick adjustments to the ball. His catch radius was also very impressive and his big hands were some of the softest on the field.
13
DQB
Jon Randall Belton
West Monroe (La.)
Recruiting Wrap: Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech and ULM are among those who have offered Belton.
Performance: Belton continued a strong summer run with a solid showing at LSU's camp. He threw with accuracy and touch and showed he could also put some heat on the ball when it was needed. He has a high release point and at 6-foot-3 and over 200 pounds he was quick to pass the eyeball test.
14
WR
Isaiah Graham
Bastrop (La.)
Recruiting Wrap: Graham lists a top nine of TCU, Arkansas, Miami, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Texas Tech and Nebraska.
Performance: It was an uneven performance from Graham, but there was a lot to like. His hands betrayed him for a little while, but even then his crisp routes and footwork were among the best. The normally sure-handed receiver figured out his issue and made the correction and finished strong with several nice receptions on Friday.
15
WR
Quartney Davis
Houston (Texas) Langham Creek
Recruiting Wrap: Davis is committed to Texas A&M.
Performance: Davis was a late arrival but he was able to put in a very good session on Saturday. He is a big receiver and his quick feet allowed him to easily separate from defenders. He ran some very quick routes and was one of the more explosive receivers off the line of scrimmage.
16
RB
Bentavious Thompson (2017)
Miami (Fla.) Killian
Recruiting Wrap: Thompson is committed to Miami.
Performance The 6-foot, 183-pound running back has some nice size to him and was a big target out of the backfield. His footwork proved to be too much for most linebackers and he was able to separate to make the catch. He also did a very nice job of locating the ball and making little adjustments without losing a step.
17
PQB
Chancellor Johnson
Newnan (Ga.)
Recruiting Wrap: Johnson has a scholarship offer from Louisville.
Performance: During the Friday afternoon session there was a lot of talk about the player with the gold shoes. That guy was Chancellor Johnson and he was throwing some darts out there. He threw with some very nice velocity and put the ball on his receivers. He had a nice deep ball and at 6-foot-4, he has some great size.
18
WR
Devonta Jason (2018)
New Orleans (La.) Landry-Walker
Recruiting Wrap: Jason picked up his first offer from LSU after camp.
Performance: Jason has some great length at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, and he has the ability to go up and attack the football. His hands were among the most consistent at camp and he made several great adjustments to the ball throughout the day. He was strong in drills, one-on-ones, and 7-on-7 play despite being one of the younger prospects.
19
WR
Kendrick Paul (2017)
Livonia (La.)
Recruiting Wrap: Paul already holds a scholarship offer from McNeese State.
Performance: Paul has some nice size but it was his short space burst that really caught attention. He was able to start and stop on a dime, which allowed him to separate from most defenders. His solid build did come in handy as he was able to use it to shield opponents as he made several nice plays on the ball.
20
S
David Beasley
Pine Bluff (Ark.)
Recruiting Wrap: Beasley is committed to Louisiana Tech.
Performance: The Pine Bluff standout is listed as a safety but he spent all of his time at wide receiver while he was in Baton Rouge. Thursday he was a little hit and miss, but Friday morning he hit his stride and was one of the most consistent receivers. The ball did get into his body from time to time, but he was able to showcase a nice catch radius.
21
PQB
Zadock Dinkelmann (2018)
Somerset (Texas)
Recruiting Wrap: Dinkelmann is committed to LSU.
Performance: Somerset's Dinkelmann made headlines when he committed so early to the Tigers, but it was easy to see what coach Cam Cameron liked so much. He is a big prospect at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds. He stands tall in the pocket. He throws with accuracy and he can definitely put velocity on the ball, too.
22
OT
Kardell Thomas (2019)
Baton Rouge (La.) Southern Lab
Recruiting Wrap: Thomas is in the 2019 recruiting class so it is extremely early.
Performance: Thomas may be too far down this list especially considering he is so young and competed with the older guys. One thing is for sure: He did not look out of place. He held his own and he definitely has the size at about 6-foot-4 and 316 pounds. He was pretty light on his feet and he packed a pretty powerful punch, too. He is definitely one to watch for the future.
23
WR
J'Shon Foster (2017)
Ferriday (La.)
Recruiting Wrap: Foster is looking for his first scholarship offers.
Performance: Foster is long and lean at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds. He is not a polished product right now, but there is a lot to like with his athleticism. He did a good job of going up and attacking the football in jump ball situations, and he has the kind of athletic gifts that cannot be taught.
24
WR
Terrance Marshall (2018)
Bossier City (La.) Parkway
Recruiting Wrap: The recruiting process is just beginning for Marshall.
Performance: Marshall's size is one of the first things people notice. He stands out in a crowd at 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds. He has a smooth stride and does a great job of stretching out for the football. He is not afraid of getting physical, either, and he was quick to step up and compete.
25
TE
Devonte Porter
Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian
Recruiting Wrap: Arizona and LSU are among those who have expressed an interest in Porter.
Performance: Porter immediately passes the eyeball test. He is a big target at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds. He has some big hands and he moved well through drills. His size allows him to handle physical play by defenders and stay on route.
